Two Modernists
"A small exhibition in the gallery of the Atelierhaus Mengerzeile leads visitors to nature: "Tripping the drop" in the art room m3 of the Atelierhaus Mengerzeile. Here, artists present works that primarily use nature as their source of materials and themes. For example, Simon Faithfull's video shows a man with thinning hair and a light blue shirt standing in a forest swamp. Just a few more steps and he would be completely submerged. And between the abstract paintings by Marta Marcé and Noemi Y. Molitor are busts made of straw and waste paper by the sculpture duo Nick Crowe and Ian Rawlinson. Unlike the proud marble and metal heads in museums, they are not created for eternity, but are subject to the changes of nature."
