location:
Cornerhouse frontage, Manchester
date(s):

description:
Mike Dawson has covered the imposing columns which flank the entrance to the
Cornerhouse Gallery and Cinemas with mock brick wall paper. Working within his
chosen mileau - namely the relationship between the real and the fake, Dawsons
columns both blend in with the red brick architecture that dominates Manchester
City Centre as well as being an accute, and somewhat phallic, affront to the
entrance of one of Manchester's leading contemporary art spaces. Dawson will
discussing this and other work with Artranspennine curator Ian Rawlinson at
the Cornerhouse Gallery 17th July 2003 - 6pm -8pm.
