description:
An Action Man has been placed on top of Dufton Pike. He looked great too, sat atop the hill with a really big gun in his hand, surveying all that was his. Now I don't know where he is - he could be anywhere.

GETTING TO DUFTON PIKE:-
If you would like to go to Dufton Pike in order to see whether the work is still there (it probably won't be), it's best to start your journey from
Appleby-in-Westmoreland. By foot or car, take the tarmacadam road to Dufton, 3 miles to the north-east. The village has a nice pub and a village store for stocking up on snacks for your journey. Take the track off the road by the side of Dufton Manor, signposted to Dufton Pike. Follow this track for about a mile and a half, keeping to the south-eastern flank of Dufton Pike. When you reach a purple gate on the left, take the eastern ridge up the fell. At the top of the peak there will probably be nothing there.
